Please note: To qualify under the Independent class the following factors are considered: 

Eligibility: An applicant must score a minimum of 67 points to qualify to apply under this class of referred to as the independent class or skilled worker category as it is now referred to. Based upon the information provided in your resume or assessment form we will evaluate if you scored sufficient points to be eligible to apply for permanent residency to Canada

Scores are based on the following criteria:

Age, Education, Occupation, Work experience, Language proficiency and Adaptability that has several factors to it.

Points awarded for the occupation factor are updated periodically by Citizenship
& Immigration Canada and may change without notice.

EVALUATION OF CERTIFICATES:

If the candidate is an Engineer, his /her degree has to be evaluated by the CCPE (Canadian Council of Professional Engineers). There is a fee for this evaluation. This fee is payable directly to CCPE Canada.

This fee is not applicable in the case of computer engineers. However, it is advisable that all potential applicants have their testimonials evaluated here in Canada before the application is made. We can help in this process. Additional fee is charged for this service.

Evaluation of your Application by the visa office: The application will be evaluated based on the regulation in effect on the date of the completed application and the fees received at the Canadian visa office.

CONSULAR APPLICATION PROCESSING FEES:

The applicant must pay the government processing fee to the Embassy / Consulate / High Commission to initiate the immigration process. Processing fee is as under:

Applicant: Canadian $ 550.00
Spouse: Canadian $ 550.00
Children: Canadian $ 150.00 for all under 22

This fee can be paid in local currency at a bank in your country of residence and a draft payable to the Canadian High Commission/ Canadian Consulate General be obtained and sent to us with your application. These fees are non-refundable.

Right of Landing fee (now referred to Cost of Recovery fee):

This Landing fee can be paid at any time before the issuance of the visa and this is fully refundable in case if the visa is refused.

Applicant: Canadian $ 490.00
Spouse: Canadian $ 490.00
Children under 22: No fee

PROCESSING TIME:

The complete processing period is over 18 months in most cases. In the event if the interview is waived then the time frame will be much shorter or may be cut in half. We have been successful in getting the interview waived for some applicants.
